Maybach has been awarded 'Top Brand of the Year 2025'

Maybach, The renowned German wine brand from the House of Peter Mertes can now proudly display a special seal: In the “Wine” category, Maybach was honored as Top Brand 2025 by Lebensmittel Zeitung. This seal underscores the brand’s successful development. This prestigious award is the result of dedicated and consistent brand management. It demonstrates that Maybach has not only firmly established itself in the market but also secured a leading position,” said Managing Director Matthias Willkomm.


What makes the Top Brand award special is that it is not based on subjective opinions, but on objective market data, making it completely valid. The foundation for the award is the consumer panel “YouGov FMCG” by the market research institute YouGov CP Germany, which analyzes the purchasing behavior of 30,000 households. Maybach is among the 100 brands within its product category that best met the strict criteria of the Top Brand award. The winners are distinguished by the highest percentage increase in market share, accompanied by positive sales growth and at least stable buyer numbers. The evaluation period covers the years 2023 and 2024. In both areas, Maybach achieved top marks.


With a volume of around 17 million bottles (Circana, total retail grocery sector, 2024), Maybach is Germany’s most successful wine brand; it is likely that no German wine brand has ever before achieved these volumes in the retail grocery sector. Maybach stands for reliable, premium quality and enjoyable drinking pleasure. The product range of the brand launched in 2011 includes seven classic grape varieties from German vineyards in various styles and packaging formats, as well as two alcohol-free variants in white and rosé. Earlier this year, Maybach Alcohol-Free White was awarded “Product of the Year 2024” in the alcohol-free category by Weinwirtschaft. Since 2025, Maybach has been exploring new paths with innovative products such as an organic Cabernet Blanc and two fresh Seccos. Maybach wines are available in a wide range of packaging options: from the classic 0.75l bottle and convenient 0.25l small bottles to 3l bag-in-box formats, offering the perfect wine for every occasion.
